Tucker's Life
Meet Tucker – Portland, Oregon's most photographed Yellow Labrador. Tucker was seven weeks old when he came into my life as a gift on Christmas, 2004. Having always wanted a puppy but not ever really expecting a puppy, the little round yellow ball of fur and I immediately bonded. Raising him with unconditional love (and not without some sacrifice on my part) has proved to be a very satisfying and rewarding experience. As a photographer, I have made a commitment to document his life beginning from the time he was a puppy and will continue through all the stages of his life. He actually enjoys being the center of attention when the camera comes out and the side of him that is a ham as well as the side of him that is very patient and tolerant gallantly emerges.
Tucker is now six years old and our relationship has grown even closer. He is truly my best friend, definitely my favorite photo subject and, I don't mind adding, Portland's most handsome, expressive and well mannered Yellow Labrador. He was socialized early in life and has adapted beautifully to many situations. Because I expose him to all types of stimulation . . . people, traffic, animals, stores, shopping centers, noises and road trips, Tucker has emerged as a very confident and comfortable dog. People tend to gravitate toward him and enjoy meeting him and he, being the perfect gentleman, always responds eagerly and with curiosity.
Some days he goes to work with me and, when he doesn't, I go home and check up on him at mid-day. More often than not he has been dozing and dreaming about our afternoon walk together and how we will soon play a little ball in the park. Needless to say, Tucker gets most of my free time, especially on weekends when everything we do together is an adventure. One of the reasons I love Tucker so much is because he is always so willing and eager to do something or go someplace as long as he gets to be with me. Because of his good looks, exceptional personality and fine character (just ask anyone who knows him!), Tucker is well on his way to becoming a national star.
